Free website check

Find out what your website is costing you.

Send us the address. We go through the site the way a visitor and a search engine do, and send back a short report with the fixes in order. It is free and there is no obligation.

What we check

Seven things visitors notice before you do.

Security

HTTPS on every page, a valid certificate, no insecure images or scripts, and no years-old site software.

Phones

Whether the site scales to a phone screen, and whether menus, buttons and forms are usable there.

Speed

How long the homepage takes to arrive, and what is slowing it down.

Contact and booking

Whether a visitor can find a way to reach you, and whether the contact, booking and enquiry pages actually load.

Out of date

Old copyright years, news and events that stopped years ago, dead social links, and leftovers like Flash.

Search and sharing basics

Page descriptions, share images, and the details search engines and social apps use to show your site.

Accessibility

Images without descriptions and other common barriers for people using screen readers.

What you get

A report you can act on.

  • A short report in plain language, with a screenshot for each problem.
  • The fixes in order: what matters most, what can wait.
  • An honest call on whether to fix the current site or start again.
  • A fixed-price quote if you want us to do the work. No obligation if you don't.

Questions

Common questions

Is the website check really free?

Yes. You get the report whether or not you hire us. If you want the fixes done, we quote a fixed price separately.

What do you need from us?

Only the website address. We review the public site the way a visitor and a search engine see it. No logins or access are needed.

How is this different from an automated SEO score?

Automated tools produce long lists of minor warnings. We look at the site as a person would, check that forms and booking actually work, and put the findings in order of what matters to your visitors.

Do you check accessibility?

We flag common accessibility barriers, such as missing image descriptions, poor contrast and unlabelled forms. A full WCAG audit is a separate, larger piece of work.
